Travel Scholarship Guidelines

The Music Department will award one travel scholarship of $500 to a Music Technology student each year to attend a national or international conference or festival on which they will have a work performed. In the event that no student has a work accepted for presentation on a national or international event, then the judges will, at their discretion, either not give an award that year or confer the award on a student who they determine would benefit most from attending the conference.

All applications must conform to the following:

1. A typed sheet of paper must be submitted containing the following information:
a. student’s name
b. student’s contact info (address, land phone, cell phone, email)
c. name, date and place of event student wishes to attend
d. confirmation that student has submitted work for presentation to event (no application will be accepted unless student has submitted work for presentation except for the 2006-2007 academic year)
e. indication as to whether student’s work has been accepted for presentation ( a copy of the email or letter from the presenting organization confirming acceptance must be attached with this application)

2. A second sheet explaining why the student feels that attending the event will positively impact their professional and artistic goals.

All completed applications should be submitted to the attention of Professor Miller and must be received no later than December 1, 2006. The notification of the winner will be made no later than the last week of January, 2007.
