Electronic Music Composers Competition for High School Students in the Northeast The Music Technology program of the Music Department, Northeastern University, Boston is pleased to announce an electronic-music composition contest for high school composers from the Northeast. The first prize will be a cash award of $250 and a performance of the winning work on a public concert at Northeastern in Boston in Spring, 2008. The second place winner will receive an award of $100 and a public performance of their work. Both winners will also receive a free copy of Cakewalk's Sonar 7 Producer Edition and Garritan's Personal Orchestra sample library. The music departments of both winners will also receive a copy of both programs. Additional awards will be given at the judges' discretion. Contest Rules On a separate piece of paper, applicants must type the following information and submit it with their entry: 2008 Deadline for receipt of works at Northeastern is March 17, 2008. Do not send an original copy - only send a duplicate of the work. CDs will not be returned. Include a self-addressed, stamped postcard if you wish to be notified that your work has been received. Submit an audio CD of the composition and the requested information to:
